![]() ![]() Actually it did not support FLAC but supported WAV and the server transcoded it so the Slimp3 support FLAC too just not in a lossless format. I did not have the original Slimp3 player but had the first squeezebox (one made just after) since it supported FLAC and the Slimp3 did not. I have been using LMS well before the L screwed it up. Thanks for all your help, and hopefully you can all point the "Sonos like home audio" questions to this or that thread for a while. Then slapped Squeezelite on the Pi3b alongside room assistant, and disabled all the Mopidy, Snapcast, Raspotify stuff as there's no need anymore. LMS runs better on my Pi4 SSD with HA running alongside it (HA is in Docker) than on the Pi3b SD card on as pCP. Then I downloaded the Deb for LMS onto my phone and transferred it to my HA pi with this app and fired up the old SSH to install it. Then I prodded Squeezelite (sudo apt install Squeezelite) because I had no sound, until I stumbled upon the linked thread above and got it working. What I actually did was install PiCorePlayer on another SD and prodded it to work it out, got that working. Then you just need to bang that into an iframe in HA (with icon: mdi:music so you have an icon) and it'll show up in your sidebar. You can then try each of them in the config with that extra line at the bottom, until you get sound.įrom there you should hopefully get to where I am with a fully working LMS server that'll connect to your Chromecast devices and your Pi's (I put Squeezelite on my second pi and got sound using the same method outlined above, which my server found immediately). If you type "squeezelite -l" in your terminal it gives all your outputs. I installed Logitech media server and Squeezelite on my HA Pi following one of the many guides out there, installed Spotty plugin (for Spotify) and a Material Theme to look nice, and the Chromecast bridge.įor my Squeezelite instance this thread was the final piece to get sound on my Pi's which basically amounted to adding an extra line to the bottom of the Squeezelite config "-C -a :::0" which I have no clue what it is or what it does, but it works. I have managed to get it all up and running with some minor synchronization issues which I'll tweak over time. I'll just post my third edit to that post here to explain because I'm lazy: The Quest had been a long one, which ended with this cry for help in this sub.Īfter battling with Logitech Media Server, piCorePlayer and Squeezelite all weekend I finally got sound from my Pi's.
